"What
You Can Learn From Other People's Mistakes"

You're
about to learn why it's important to learn from other
people's mistakes so that you can begin to generate more
sales and more profits?
What
do we mean by this?
Let's
use our "misunderstanding" from a few days ago
as a classic example.
No
doubt by now you know about the dramas we had when we
sent out an update about "Source Code Blowout 2"
package and how we were looking at a way where you could
get these either at a discounted price or at no cost if
you were an Infinite-Revenue.com member.
Boy
did we step on a few toes with this email. We had bearly
even finished sending out the update when we got an email
from Jeremy Burns stating he had received a number of
messages from irate people who were accusing us of being
rats, jerks and scumbags all because they ASSUMED that
we were "part of the crowd"!
You
see, as much as 95% of the population has a "crowd
mentality" and they never bother to take the time
to think outside the square and do something different.
Doing this is far too risky and this triggers a defensive
impulse that makes us revert to our comfort zone.
When
this happens we automatically take the "easy way
out" and continue to do what everyone else is doing!
While
this may be fine for some things, like when your at the
firing range or walking a t'ight rope, at other times
it's pure lunacy. If you have a "crowd mentality"
on the net, all you're going to get is more headaches
and deeper in debt... or at least no closer to getting
out of the rat race than what you were the day before!
For
example, when we sent out our famous "Source Code
Blowout 2" email, a number of people assumed we were
going to freely hand over copies of these products to
our members. Thinking this, naturally they were upset
with our strategy as they felt we were devaluing this
great package and ruining their chances of making any
sales.
The
trouble is that they couldn't have been further from the
truth!
Now
before we go any further we want to stress that in no
way are we "dirty" on
those who made Jeremy aware of our "assumed"
intentions. Like we mentioned in our last email, we fully
understood why the did it and we even congratulated them
for doing this as they were only doing what they thought
was the right thing.
In
fact, they were simply following what most of us have
been "programmed" to do since the beginning
of time. They immediately thought like the rest of the
crowd and not for one moment did they think that maybe,
just maybe, we had thought outside the square and implemented
something different that very few other people would do.
You
see, less than 5% of people who purchased this or any
other product will ever make any real sales of what they
purchased. Yes you read that right. Less
than 5%... and this is a very conservative estimate!
The
reason for this is that 95% of people will simply take
the easy route and do
what everyone else is doing. They will simply whack there
name on the sales page, upload it to their site and try
to flog off these products like everyone else will. This
may work if only a couple of people are doing this, but
when thousands of other people are doing the same thing,
the competition becomes just too great.
So
what was it we were planning to do that caused all the
kafuffle?
Well,
for each product we were going to revamp the content,
create new graphics, rename it and call it our own. As
we had Private Label Rights to these products we had full
legal right to do this, so we wouldn't be breaching an
terms and conditions etc.
Doing
this would give us full control over how we distributed
these products,
plus it would in no way devalue the products in the original
package as the
products would not be tied to each other.
Now
this isn't mind blowing stuff. But as we mentioned before,
only a very limited number of people will actually do
this... and it is these people that benefit most from
these packages and products.
We
were never going to give away or devalue any of the original
products contained in the SCB2 package. To the contrary.
We were simply going to do what Private Label Rights were
designed to do, to create your own product without the
hassle and the hard work or doing it yourself.
So
what can you learn from this?
If
you're selling the same products as everyone else, to
be successful online you MUST think outside the square.
This is even more important if you're promoting affiliate
products. You need to breakout of the "crowd mentality"
and create your own Unique Selling Position (USP) that
separates you from your competition.
If
you can do this, then you're half way there. Fail to do
this, and you'll never get out of the basement!
That's
all for today.
Talk
to you again shortly :o)
