A
Step-by-Step System That Shows You "How to Make the
Next 12 Months Your Most Successful Ever!" - Lesson
#2
Hi Internet friend,
Welcome
to another "pure content" tip where each
week you will uncover hot new tips and techniques that will
help you build and grow your online business.
In the
last issue you learned about "idea hopping" and
why this causes most people to fail with their online business
- we used the analogy of pushing a car to explain why this
happens.
If
you missed the last issue you can read it here!
In the
next few issues we will focus on the crucial steps you MUST
take in order to develop your own business "game plan"
so that you can make the next 12 months your most successful
year ever!
So
let's get going with Step #1...
Before
you can succeed in any venture - online or offline - you
need to sit down and decide what types of goals you want
to achieve - both short-term and long-term. It's also important
to understand that you need to feed you long-term
goals with short-term successes!
So if
your long-term goal is to earn a full-time living online
you need to develop a step-by-step process that you can
consistently follow to attain your short-term goals that
form part of the "bigger picture".
However,
before you can start developing your goals, you first need
to look back to see where you've been so that you can plan
where you're going. In other words, you need to evaluate
what you've done in the last 12 months.
If you
already have a presence online, what kind of year was it
for your business? Did you achieve your goals or did
you fall short?
If you
reached the income level you were striving for or surpassed
other personal goals, then you should congratulate yourself.
You're next step would be to lift your expectations and
to set higher goals for the next 12 months!
Let's
say your business didn't quite go as you would have liked.
This doesn't mean you had a bad year, it just means you
fell a little short of your goals.
Most
of us fall short of our goals, so this is nothing to be
concerned about. You may find that you need to work a little
smarter - and not harder.
If you
didn't reach your goals, the type of things you need to
ask yourself may include:
-
Why didn't I reach the income level I set for myself?
- Did I do everything I could have to build my business?
- Did I dedicate enough time to my business?
- Did I simply waste time on unimportant matters?
- Did I finish that product I was going to create?
- Did I really do all I could to drive more traffic to my
websites?
- Did I spent too much time "idea hopping"?
Unless
you're able to pinpoint where you fell short in the
past, you simply won't move forward in the future, because
these very same problems that held you back in the past
WILL prevent you from reaching your goals.
You
haven't got to be a rocket scientist to work out that if
you keep on doing the same thing day-in, day-out, then you're
going to continue to get the same results as you
always have.
Listen,
if you're completely happy with your past results, then
that's fine. You don't need to do anything. Just keep doing
what you've been doing.
But
if you've fallen short of your goals or you're not happy
with your results - and you want to take your business to
the next level - then isn't it time you did something
different?
For
example - if you suffer from procrastination (like most
people), then maybe you avoided taking action on certain
projects in the past year that would have made all the difference
to your end results.
Think
about it. Haven't you had at least one BIG idea that could
have made you hugely successful, but due to your
procrastination someone else beat you to the punch?
Hey,
don't beat yourself up if this has happened to you, it happens
all the time. In fact it has happened to us on a number
of occasions, so don't feel too bad. Instead you should
treat it exactly for what it's meant to be - a learning
experience!
The
best thing you can do is to sit down and think about how
you can make sure you don't repeat the same mistakes in
the future.
We won't
sugar coat it. Things could get ugly and you may discover
things about yourself that you don't like. But by identifying
your weaknesses - and then taking ACTION to develop
and implement the changes that need to be made - the next
12 months could truly be your most successful year ever!
So get
going and start being brutally honest with yourself - it's
the only way you can move forward.
In a
few days you will learn the next step you need to take in
building your "game plan" and how unless you're
doing this one thing you could jeopardise
your entire plan - and your success!
Until
then, all the best and good luck.
Your
friends in success,
Dave
